Marit Parten — Founder & Lead Coach, My Steady Voice
The fear of public speaking, or glossophobia, is one of the most common anxieties people face — affecting up to 75% of people, at any age.
Marit Parten believes that overcoming this fear can unlock a lifetime of confidence, independent thinking, and self-assured communication. Her program,My Steady Voice, helps young people find clarity, courage, and calm when speaking in front of others.
Marit is the founder and lead coach ofMy Steady Voice,a program designed to help youth and young adults develop confidence, authenticity, and poise through the art of public speaking. With a background spanning education, corporate learning and development, and sales leadership, she brings a rare blend of warmth, structure, and real-world communication experience to her work.
She began her career as an elementary and middle school Language Arts and Speech & Debate teacher, where she discovered a deep passion for helping students express their thoughts and emotions with honesty and impact.
For the past seven years, Marit has worked in tech sales training and learning & development, creating and leading programs that help professionals communicate with clarity, influence, and empathy. That experience, combined with ten years in outside sales, shaped her ability to teach practical skills that connect with any audience — whether in a boardroom or a classroom.
As a licensed marriage officiant, Marit also understands the power of presence and emotion. She brings authentic vulnerability to her coaching and has a natural ability to draw out the best in others. Her sessions create an environment of empathy and depth, where young people feel at ease, safe to take risks, and free to discover their own steady voice.
ThroughMy Steady Voice, Marit’s mission is to help students not just speak well, but speak as themselves — with confidence, connection, and heart.
